Bitcoin payment FAQ

How many confirmations does Bekena require for BTC?
By default, Bekena waits for 1 Bitcoin confirmation (~10 minutes) before forwarding funds. For high-risk transactions, you can configure 3 confirmations via the API.
Does Bekena handle BTC price volatility?
Yes. When you create an invoice with a USD/USDT amount, Bekena calculates the equivalent BTC amount at the current rate and locks it for the invoice duration (default 60 minutes).
What if the Bitcoin price changes during the payment window?
The BTC amount is locked at invoice creation. If the price moves significantly, the customer may send a slightly different USDT equivalent — handled via underpaid/overpaid webhooks.
Do you support Lightning invoices?
Yes. Specify currency: "BTC_LIGHTNING" in your API call. We generate a BOLT11 Lightning invoice. Payment is settled instantly and confirmed within seconds.
