How does payment settlement work?

Bekena is fully non-custodial. Each invoice gets a unique derived wallet address. When a payment confirms on-chain, funds go directly to your pre-configured settlement wallet — Bekena never holds your money. For EU users or VPN traffic, settlement mode is Direct Wallet (0% fee). For other regions, Smart Conversion routes through THORChain at 1% fee.

How do subscription / recurring payments work?

Create a new invoice via API for each billing cycle. Your app handles the billing schedule; we handle payment detection and webhook delivery. Ideal for monthly SaaS, hosting renewals, and subscription services.

Do I need to complete KYC?

No KYC required. Create an account at app.bekena.com, add your settlement wallet address, and you can start accepting live payments immediately. The sandbox is also instantly available with no verification.

What happens if a customer sends the wrong amount?

You receive webhook events for payment.underpaid and payment.overpaid with the exact on-chain amount. Your backend decides how to handle each case per your business logic.

Can I create invoices in local currencies like UAH or JPY?

Yes. Set currency=UAH (or any of the 127 supported fiat currencies) when creating an invoice via API. Bekena converts the amount to the equivalent crypto using live exchange rates. You can also set a default currency per account or per brand in the dashboard — so you never need to pass it explicitly in every API call.
