Getting Started
What is Bekena?
Bekena is a non-custodial crypto payment gateway. We help businesses accept USDT, BTC, ETH, and more via a REST API. When a customer pays, funds confirm on-chain and go directly to your pre-configured settlement wallet — Bekena never holds your money.
How do I sign up?
Go to app.bekena.com and create an account. No KYC required — sandbox and production API keys are both available immediately. Add your settlement wallet address and you're ready to accept live payments.
How long does integration take?
The average integration takes 30–60 minutes for a developer familiar with REST APIs. You make one POST request to create a payment invoice, then listen for a webhook event when the payment confirms. That's the core flow.
Is there a free trial?
The sandbox environment is free, unlimited, and has no time limit. It behaves identically to production — same API endpoints, same webhook format, same error codes. You can fully test your integration without risking real funds.
Fees & Pricing
What does Bekena charge?
Bekena charges 1% per successfully confirmed payment. There are no monthly fees, no setup fees, and no minimum volume requirements. You only pay when you actually receive a payment.
How is the fee deducted?
Bekena uses Smart Routing. For EU users or VPN traffic (Direct Wallet mode), the fee is 0% — the full amount lands in your wallet. For other traffic (Smart Conversion mode), a 1% fee is applied via the THORChain swap before the funds reach your wallet. Automatic — no manual billing.
Do failed or expired payments cost anything?
No. If a customer doesn't pay within the invoice window (and it expires), or if a payment fails for any reason, there is no charge. You only pay for confirmed, successful transactions.
Is there enterprise pricing?
Yes. Merchants processing over $500,000/month can negotiate custom rates below 1%. Contact [email protected] with your volume and use case.
Settlement
How fast is settlement?
Settlement speed depends on the blockchain network. USDT on Solana settles in ~15 seconds. USDT TRC20 and BEP20 settle in ~1 minute. Ethereum-based tokens settle in ~3 minutes. Bitcoin settles in ~10 minutes (1 block).
When do I receive my funds?
Bekena is non-custodial — there is no holding period. Funds go directly to your settlement wallet on-chain as soon as the required confirmations are reached. No batch processing, no pending queue.
How does non-custodial settlement work?
Each invoice gets a unique derived wallet address generated from your HD master key. When a customer pays to that address, the funds land on-chain in your wallet directly. For Smart Conversion (non-EU), THORChain swaps the incoming coin to your preferred currency before forwarding.
Can I change my settlement wallet address?
Yes, anytime. Log in to the dashboard, go to Settings → Settlement Wallets, and update your wallet address. Changes take effect for all new invoices created after the update.
Supported Cryptocurrencies
Which cryptocurrencies does Bekena support?
Bekena supports: USDT (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, Solana), Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDC (ERC20, BEP20), BNB, TRX, TON, Litecoin (LTC), and Solana (SOL). 9 coins across 8 networks — all at the same 1% fee.
Can I accept multiple currencies at once?
Yes. You can create invoices for any supported currency. You can also offer customers a choice — show them multiple invoice options (one per currency) and accept whichever they prefer. All go to the same payout wallet.
What if I only want to accept USDT?
Specify currency: "USDT_TRC20" (or the network of your choice) in your API call, and your customers will only see that option. You can accept a single currency or multiple — your choice.
Webhooks & API
How do webhooks work?
When a payment changes state (confirmed, expired, underpaid, overpaid), Bekena sends a signed HTTP POST request to your webhook URL. The request body contains the payment details and a cryptographic signature you should verify before acting on it.
What if my server is down when a webhook fires?
Bekena automatically retries failed webhook deliveries with exponential backoff. You can also replay individual webhook events from the dashboard, and view the full delivery history with response codes and latency.
How do I verify webhook authenticity?
Each webhook includes an X-Bekena-Signature header containing an HMAC-SHA256 signature of the request body, signed with your webhook secret. Compute the expected signature on your end and compare — reject if they don't match.
Are there idempotency keys?
Yes. All POST endpoints support an Idempotency-Key header. If you send the same key twice (e.g., on network retry), you receive the same response without creating a duplicate payment. Safe to retry aggressively.
Security & Compliance
How quickly are payments settled?
Funds go directly to your wallet within ~5 minutes of on-chain confirmation on most networks. USDT TRC20 and Solana typically confirm in under 1 minute. There is no Bekena intermediary custody step.
Do I need to complete KYC?
No KYC required — for you or your customers. Bekena is non-custodial: funds flow directly to your wallet, so no custodial compliance requirements apply. Sign up, add your settlement wallet, and start accepting immediately.
Is there a chargeback risk with crypto?
No. Blockchain transactions are cryptographically final. Once a payment confirms, there is no mechanism for the customer to reverse it. This eliminates the chargeback fraud that costs card merchants 1–4% annually.
Do you have an AML policy?
Yes. We screen transactions against AML databases and have a full AML policy available at bekena.com/legal/aml. Merchants agree to our terms of service which prohibit use for sanctioned activities.
