Step-by-step tutorial for WordPress store owners. We cover plugin installation, API key setup, webhook configuration, and testing — with screenshots.
Adding crypto checkout to your WooCommerce store takes under 15 minutes with the Bekena plugin. Customers see a "Pay with Crypto" option at checkout, get a USDT payment address with QR code, and their order is automatically fulfilled when payment confirms on-chain.
Prerequisites
- ✓WordPress 6.0+ with WooCommerce 8.0+ installed
- ✓A Bekena account with API keys (free at app.bekena.com)
- ✓Your USDT payout wallet address
- ✓SSL certificate on your WordPress site (required for webhooks)
Step 1: Install the Bekena WooCommerce Plugin
In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins → Add New → Search for "Bekena Crypto Payments". Click Install Now and then Activate. Alternatively, download the plugin ZIP from app.bekena.com/plugins and upload via Plugins → Upload Plugin.
Step 2: Configure API Keys
Navigate to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Bekena. Enter your Bekena API key and webhook secret from the Bekena dashboard. Select which cryptocurrencies to offer (USDT TRC20 is recommended as the default). Set the payment expiry time (30–60 minutes is typical).
Step 3: Set Your Payout Wallet
In the Bekena dashboard under Settings → Payout Wallets, add your USDT TRC20 wallet address. This is where all payments will be forwarded after confirmation. You can add multiple wallets for different currencies.
Step 4: Configure the Webhook
Copy the webhook URL shown in the plugin settings (it looks like yourdomain.com/wp-json/bekena/v1/webhook). In the Bekena dashboard under Webhooks, create a new webhook pointing to this URL. Enable the payment.confirmed, payment.underpaid, and payment.expired events.
Step 5: Test with Sandbox Mode
Enable Sandbox Mode in the plugin settings and switch your API key to your sandbox key. Place a test order in your store, complete a simulated payment in the Bekena sandbox dashboard, and verify the order status updates to "Processing" automatically. Once confirmed, disable sandbox mode and switch back to live API keys.
Customizing the Checkout Experience
The plugin adds a crypto payment option to the WooCommerce checkout page alongside cards, PayPal, and other methods. You can customize the payment page text, supported currencies, and the confirmation countdown timer in the plugin settings. Most stores see a 5–15% increase in completed orders after adding crypto checkout, particularly from international customers.
Handling Edge Cases
Customers sometimes send the wrong amount or pay after the invoice expires. The plugin handles payment.underpaid by putting the order on hold for manual review, and payment.expired by cancelling the order and releasing reserved inventory. You can customize this behavior in the plugin's advanced settings.
